Growing with a strong purpose

Water is one of the wealthiest resources of our planet. Operating for over 25 years, Indaqua is a Portuguese company focused on water cycle management, integrating water collection, treatment, transport and distribution, and wastewater collection and treatment for almost 600.000 households in the country.


Besides the efficient supply of potable water and sanitation, Indaqua also plays an important role in environmental education, embodying their organizational purpose of “daily contributing for the wellbeing of the community, in order to invest in a better and more sustainable world.”

Today, Indaqua has a strong presence in the north of Portugal and abroad, namely in Angola and Brazil, with 600 employees in its operation. To evolve, the organization needed to update and develop some People Management policies.

pur’ple joined the growth journey with the mission to review, design and develop a set of policies and tools that would allow an appropriate and more effective people management, both in terms of methodologies and in terms of processes.

To help Indaqua in their new business chapter, pur’ple acted on several fronts:

  • After a detailed survey of all existing job functions, we carried out an exercise of functional classification, in line with the best market practices.


  • With a thorough knowledge of the different areas and organizational levels, a Career Model was developed to support the organization and give visibility to all employees about the criteria involved and the perspectives of evolution ahead.

  • Influenced by the Career Model, other people management policies were also reviewed and updated, such as performance, compensation and benefits.


  • We also supported the design of the organizational structure for the new international operation.
